Cryogenic Storage Freezers

MVE High Efficiency/Vapor
Series -190 °C Freezers
There is a critical temperature for most
biological samples that are cryopreserv-
ed. This critical temperatue is commonly
estimated as the glass transition tem-
perature of water near -137 °C. The
long-term viability of frozen samples can
be seriously compromised if stored above
this temperature. Further, if the samples
experience several transitions through
this range in either thermal direction,
deterioration may also occur. It is there-
fore important that the liquid nitrogen
freezer maintain a lower temperature,
even during sample loading and retrieval.
Chart-MVE’s approach to this problem
was to improve the fundamental design
of freezers used in vapor phase to MVE 815P-190
achieve -190 °C even at the top of the Unit Capacities – Vials
freezer while the freezer lid is open. 1.2 and 2 ml Vials, (Internally Threaded) 15600
